Did you know gelato originates from our hometown, Florence? In the late 1500s, architect Bernardo Buontalenti invented a recipe to serve at the Medici court and birthed the creamy frozen dessert.
In fact, you`ll see "buontalenti" at many of the best gelato shops in town. Just make sure you`re buying the real deal - especially if you`re in the more touristy areas of our beautiful Firenze.
